KINGMAKERS OF OAKLANDĀ MAKES MOVEMENT MUSIC
Kahlil Chatmon, recently graduated from Sacramento State University with a degree in Cultural Anthropology. Kahlil has worked with Kingmakers of Oakland for the past 3 years as Community Engagement Coordinator and now the Program Manager of The Fellowship Initiative. A college access program that works with rising 10th graders for 3 years supporting them with College matriculation. Kahlil has contributed to all 4 Kingmakers of Oakland Albums and was the lead Poet in our Revolution Remix short film that was filmed on location in Oakland, CA during the pandemic.
Amari Chatmon, Artist in residence with Kingmakers of Oakland. Winner of the Youth Speaks MC Olympics 3 consecutive years 2013-2016 and represented Oakland, CA at the Brave New Voices National Championships on several occasions. Amari was an MC on all 4 Kingmakers of Oakland albums: Kings in the Making, Revolution Remix, Black Joy and Black Love. Amari is the Executive Producer of the upcoming album Black Healing.
Alonzo Henderson, also known as Zo1 is an artist, educator and Record Label A+R from Oakland, California. As Label A+R and executive producer, Alonzo works closely with Kingmakers of Oakland to curate musical projects to engage with youth and uplift community through art. He has traveled to different countries around the world such as Ghana, West Africa and Trinidad to share his vision and spread knowledge through Spoken Word, Poetry and Hip-Hop. He believes that there is always more to learn, more people to teach, more music to be made, and always more love and positivity to spread.
