Kings in the Making x Oakland Tech Week | Fall 2026Kings In The making: ARCHITECTS OF THE ARCADE: GALLERY & HIGHLIGHTS
In collaboration with Oakland Tech Week, Kingmakers of Oakland hosted Kings in the Making: Architects of the Arcade—a hands-on design lab and hackathon bringing together intergenerational scholars, families, and community members to explore the intersection of Ancestral Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence.
Throughout the day, young Black scholars moved from passive consumers of technology to the active Social Architects of Oakland's digital future. Grounded in who and whose they are, our Kings coded video games, animated their own artwork, and built interactive augmented reality experiences—proving that when given the space, tools, and belief, our youth don't just participate in tech; they lead it.
Take a look through the highlights from the conference below—capturing the energy, creation, mentorship, and joy of our young Kings and community bringing the arcade to life.
