A 3-Year College Access program in partnership with JP Morgan Chase’s Fellowship Initiative.

Program Overview

The Fellowship Initiative (TFI), is a comprehensive youth development program designed to expand economic opportunities and diversify talent pipelines. 

TFI Kings receive year-round academic advising, tutoring, mental health support, college tours, mentoring, career exposure, cultural trips, and enrichment workshops tailored to their growth and identity. Families don’t pay a dime, but the return is invaluable: College, Career, and Community ready young men equipped to lead, thrive, and succeed.

WE ARE RECRUITING

Black and Brown young men entering 9th grade who live or attend school in Oakland. We value potential and a genuine desire to grow, regardless of current GPA.


Duration:

4-year

commitment starting in 9th grade.

Frequency

3 Saturdays

per month (6-hour sessions).

Launch

October 17th.


THIS PROGRAM AIMS TO ADDRESS 3 PRIMARY COLLEGE READINESS ISSUES FACED BY BLACK AND LATINO YOUTH:

Access to experienced teachers who have high levels of cultural competencies when working with Black and Brown Boys/Men.

Access to rigorous college preparatory courses. 

Access to consistent guidance counseling and mental health support to track students academic and personal progress.

WE MEET 3 SATURDAYS A MONTH, GO ON FIELD TRIPS AND COLLEGE TOURS, LEARN ABOUT DIFFERENT CAREERS FROM EXPERTS IN THEIR RESPECTIVE FIELDS AND MORE.
