A Thriving Partnership Rooted in Purpose: KOO x Envision Academy

Our partnership with Envision Academy in Oakland has blossomed into one of the most powerful and affirming collaborations of the past year. Sparked by the vision of Principal Kassandre Harper-Cotton, who reached out to Kingmakers of Oakland with a clear intention to pour into 25 of her Black and Brown male students, connection was immediate. What followed was a transformational day at KOO Labs, where those young Kings were immersed in our culture, values, and the ethos that defines who we are. They were not just visitors; they were family. That day marked a homecoming, where they were seen, celebrated, and empowered to see greatness in themselves.

At Kingmakers, community partnership is not just a pillar; it is the very heartbeat of our mission. Without relationships like this, rooted in shared values and commitment to Black excellence, our impact would be limited. The bond forged that day did not stop with a visit; it evolved. Together with Principal Harper-Cotton and her team, we are co-creating spaces of possibility. Our next Kings in the Making convening will be held at Envision Academy, where we will engage students in dialogue and hands-on exploration around the influence of AI technology and its implications for their future. This ongoing collaboration has deepened our commitment to supporting the youth and families of Envision, reaffirming the power of mutual investment and trust.
