You’re Invited: Black History Month Film Celebration

Join Kingmakers of Oakland for the 3rd Annual Black History Month Film Celebration on February 12, 2026 at The New Parkway Theater in Oakland.

This event is a collective experience rooted in legacy, identity, and vision. Guided by the philosophy of REACH, BACK, RETAIN, the evening features a curated film program highlighting Afrofuturist visions, cultural heritage, and Black identity, followed by a live performance from the hip-hop duo REACH, BACK, RETAIN.

Ubuntu our animated music videos.

BACK (The Heritage): Journey through the sacred cultural spaces of East Oakland with the student produced, Roots & Renaissance docuseries.

RETAIN (The Identity): Witness the brilliance of neurodivergent Black boys in
Portraits of A King: Beyond Labels.
