Student of the month: King Carmelo

By: Kahlil Chatmon

This month we want to recognize King Carmelo, a student in our TFI College Access Program, as our Student of the Month. Carmelo just received a full scholarship to the University of Puget Sound through the Posse program! This is a huge accomplishment, and Seattle is so lucky to have him!

Carmelo is a senior at McClymonds High School and a four-year football player. Outside of school, he is a brilliant chef and gardener with a true green thumb who loves the outdoors. From the start of the program, he has been a hardworking king who effortlessly balances his many passions, always finding time to pour into them all. This scholarship is a tremendous achievement, and he is more than deserving of the recognition for the dedication and hard work we have seen him demonstrate. We could not be more proud of him and all that he has accomplished.

Carmelo, we are extremely inspired by you, and we can’t wait to see all of the amazing things you achieve in life. Know that wherever you go, we will always be cheering you on!
