TFI king travels to Chicago

Santos Pablo Jimenez from Lighthouse Community Charter School has been a consistent King in the TFI program for three years. This past fall he earned a full-ride scholarship to Northwestern University through Questbridge Scholar Match. (Absolutely huge this needs to be celebrated and lifted up).

As a young man from a Guatemalan Family who knows Oakland as his home, traveling to Evanston for college is a nerve-racking experience. The fears and anxiety of being so far, at a big prestigious university, would cause many to hesitate before accepting this opportunity.

Kahlil organized a trip with the support of the TFI Team in Oakland, LA and Chicago. Folks connected the two with professors and community folks throughout the campus and city who could help Santos get acclimated once he decides to make the transition.

We are blessed to work with students as brilliant as Santos and we grateful to our community for the support of his transition
