This month, Kingmakers of Oakland is proud to celebrate Sis Nia Lundkvist as our Facilitator of the Month. As a core leader within the Sankofa Kings program, Nia has become a pillar of the village, known for guiding youth with a unique blend of unwavering strength and deep, intentional care.
Her impact resonates just as strongly with her fellow facilitators as it does with the young Kings she mentors. Bro Yapp (Yakpasua Zazaboi) points to her "powerful yet gentle approach" as a defining element of her leadership. She commands a grounded authority in every room she enters, creating an environment of profound respect where, as Yapp notes, the students simply "do not test her."
Beyond her presence with the youth, Nia’s meticulous dedication elevates the entire Kingmakers ecosystem. Bro Kahlil Chatmon highlights her thoroughness, sharp attention to detail, and genuine passion for youth partnership as standard-setting for the organization. The ripple effect of her work extends to the staff itself, with Kahlil sharing that he continually "learns valuable methods from collaborating with her."
Whether she is masterfully guiding a tribe through complex projects, supporting our youngest scholars, or managing the essential details that make sessions successful, Nia leads by example.
Congratulations, Sis Nia, on being our Facilitator of the Month, and thank you for the brilliance and love you pour into our Kings every single week.
